About me…

I’m Mallory a certified dog trainer (ABC Animal Behavior College) living in Winnipeg with my dog Pal. I’ve been a dog trainer since 2009 and have had a long career in animal sheltering and veterinary medicine. My love for dogs all started with a German Shepherd named Shylo in the 90’s in Burnaby, BC. That was my first core memory connecting with a dog which blossomed into a love for behaviour and training! I couldn’t wait to have more dogs in my life. My family was always attracted to shelter dogs and we had many over the years that I adored. Each one teaching me something impactful about life. I spent my youth working on farms learning and caring for animals. I knew I always adored working with animals but I was also passionate about helping people. When I found dog training I was elated, finally something that fit me so well! I’ve been so thankful to all the talented animal professionals I’ve met and worked with over the years the knowledge I’ve gained is immeasurable. I love sharing what I’ve learned with amazing dog guardian’s who are just as passionate as I am about helping dogs. If you are neurodivergent, sensitive or dealing with big behaviour issues my style of coaching is for you. I’ll be in your corner cheering you on! Let me support you in your training and behaviour goals today.

Methodology…

I believe we already ask so much of our dogs so why use pain, fear or intimidation to train? Our dogs live such short lives and our time with them should be spent building connection & trust. My methods are force-free and positive reinforcement based. This is what aligns with my own ethics and values and I hope yours too! Compassionate canine coaching is what I’m passionate about and I can’t wait to show you.

So what does force free even mean? I avoid using force, verbal & physical punishment, intimidation & anything a dog may find aversive. I love empowering dog guardians to become experts on body language & how dogs learn so they can support their dogs in every situation. One of my core philosophies in caring for dogs and treating behavioural issues is meeting a dog’s needs first. While training is a big part of changing behaviour it doesn’t just stop there. We will discuss your dog’s emotional wellness and create a plan for long term success.
